Looking vexed and animated. Crestfallen is the word. The bitter taste of tears upon the tongue and the disappointing body language sums it all! An experience weighing heavily inside our minds and hanging like an anchor on our shoulders, seeping from the pores and causing blood to run from veins.
Looking downhearted, vexed and animated alright? But what do you expect when you find yourself in a different world? A world determined to show you what disappointment means. Facing blows after blows. Wave after wave of attack from your foes. Crucial events being called off or postponed. Every mistake you make is emphatically punished by mother nature leaving you dejected. All your efforts in life ending up in an embarrassing failure. Every flame you lit too quickly in life quickly dies. Everyone near and dear to you including friends, family members seems to drift away. Any flickering hope you have in life is fast fading.
Tears, regret, shock and awe, panic, restlessness and that element of customary elegance and felicity accompanying your opinion and feelings about this unwelcome experience does not only change your perception about life but also makes you wonder whether the whole world was moving on leaving you alone bewildering from what mother nature is.
Your world seems to be coming to a shocking, bitter but short end. Anger, denial, apathy, fear and depression have overshadowed every positive thought and energy igniting within you. You have a deep sense of conviction that you can't overcome the situation you are going through. Moving on and focusing on life and events ahead becomes a near impossibility. You start pondering on what to do to come out of this unwelcome situation.Seek therapist for counseling? Share your peeves and what you are going through with others? stay calm and hope for a quick healing because time is a quick healer? Or let the situation to take full charge of you? Allow bitterness and all the negative thoughts that have already flooded your mind to take full control of life? A series of questions start ringing into your mind but what should you really do at this crucial moment when things are not going your way?

First of all, prepare your mind and yourself to react positively to disappointing, frustrating and annoying situations because that's part of life and without such unpleasant and unwelcome experiences, defining the meaning of happiness would be practically impossible.Be open minded and self sufficient. Expect everything from yourself and nothing from people because yourself will never disappoint you. If you expect something from someone, be aware that you have already set yourself for disappointment
It is possible to find happiness and stay positive even when we are downhearted. As long as you are aware that no one is in charge of your own happiness except you, and that no matter how many pieces your heart is broken, the world does not stop to fix it. The best future is based on a forgotten past and without letting go of your past failures, disappointments and heartaches, you cant go on well in life.
Take this unwelcome moment as an excellent opportunity to learn patience, self control and understanding. Don't let the negative thoughts that may flood your mind at this time to take full charge of your life. Don't make any move.Disappointments, sad moments and annoying moments are meant to strengthen you and not destroy you. Don't say anything because you'll end up saying things that you would have not said under natural and normal circumstances. Don't make any major decision when your emotion is out of bound because you will regret it.

If you are to talk to anyone at that time when everything seems to be out of control, let it be God. Talk to Him. Tell Him your thoughts, tell Him what is stressing you and above all, ask Him to take full charge of the situation. ''Angels are ever present where they are most needed with those who have the hardest battle with self to fight, and whose surroundings are the most discouraging. -Desire of Ages"
Finally, let the below quotes form the basic underlying principles in your decision making and actions taken when downhearted:

7.Start ignoring people who threaten your joy. Literally ignore them. Say nothing. Don't invite any parts of them into your space.
8. Trust the wait. Embrace the uncertainty. Enjoy the beauty of becoming. When nothing is uncertain, anything is possible.
